How do I create my first budget?
After signing up, navigate to the Budget section and click "Create Budget". Set your income, define spending categories, and allocate amounts. Our AI will suggest optimizations based on your spending patterns.
How do I add my first transaction?
Go to the Transactions page and click "Add Transaction". Fill in the amount, category, description, and date. You can also upload receipts for better tracking.
Can I import data from other budgeting apps?
Yes! BudgetLens supports CSV imports from most banking and budgeting applications. Use the Import feature in Settings to upload your data.
How does community-driven pricing work?
Our infrastructure costs (servers, databases, AI services) are shared equally among all Contributing tier users. As more people join, the monthly cost per user decreases automatically. For example, if total monthly costs are $1000 and there are 100 users, each pays $10/month.
What's included in the Free tier?
Free tier includes basic expense tracking, category management, monthly reports, basic analytics, email support, and mobile app access. Perfect for personal budgeting basics.
What additional features do Contributing users get?
Contributing users get advanced analytics, custom categories, smart alerts, priority support, data export, custom reports, and all future feature updates as they're released.
What is the Donating tier?
Donating users pay 10% extra on top of infrastructure costs to support ongoing development. They get everything in Contributing plus AI-powered insights, MCP server access, early feature access, and dedicated support.
Is my financial data secure?
Yes! We use bank-level encryption (AES-256), secure HTTPS connections, and never store sensitive banking credentials. Your data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.
Do you sell my data?
Never. We don't sell, rent, or share your personal financial data with third parties. Our community-driven pricing model means we don't rely on data monetization.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes, you can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. This action is irreversible and complies with GDPR requirements.
